Books that influenced you

The only book that helped me persevere in mind control matters was The Way of Wyrd, a factual account of a Anglo Saxon Shaman. No other book helped me wandering the country roads at night apart from when I saw beings of the deceased or the building they seemed to be connected with.

Steven and Elyse Keaton are among my favorite TV parents, along with Rob and Laura Petrie (The Dick Van Dyke Show), Alan and Amy Matthews (Boy Meets World), and Howard and Marion Cunningham (Happy Days.) I'm sure I'm forgetting some other great couples at the moment, but I did say "among," so there's room for more on the list without me being wrong. Ha. Loophole.

i was very touched to see michael j fox on the emmy's - just watched that clip, and the one of sarah and david b. i noted that david stood up to clap for michael! i used to love happy days, although potsy was a bit of an idiot ;p and who can forget joanie loves chachi

Jude the obscure- Thomas Hardy
(Any Hardy book will likely teach you that life can be a pit of despair, but Jude hits different. The futility of dreams against a harsh reality beautifully portrayed. I identified a lot with Jude when I was younger and shared his dream of higher education at a time when it was unfeasible because a job was more necessary. Live life as you need to, in order to get where you want to, even if your dreams do not pan out)

The Idiot - Fyodor Dostoevsky
(What people do to each other, how people react to genuine goodness, confusion of communication, and the absolute preciousness of life. If only to read the section about the man about to be executed - based on FD’s own experiences - and how he divides up his remaining time in his mind, well worth reading)

(Sometimes finding yourself is one heck of a journey, intellectually, spiritually and physically.)

Moby Dick - Herman Melville
(Go for the adventure, yes, but be wary of obsession. Don’t let yourself be ruined by your own inability to let go.)
