This! People should stop asking what she did to deserve that treatment! So sad that it keeps happening, making excuses for abusive behavior because she's not a saint and she should have done something.
Nobody is asking what she did to deserve it, no one is making excuses for it, what people are saying it that, there may be more to the story than what she has said. Not in he said she said way but we do not and as we weren't there, never will know exactly what happened.

I cannot say I am surprised. Hollywood has always run on who you don't piss off. People who want careers have had to shut up about some deep, dark horribles, particularly female people. From the things she barely alluded to, and from everything we saw on screen, I knew she had gone through some horrible things. Her last arc on Angel showed the massive disrespect and ruination toward her and her career that was intended. Every other role she's had after that was tainted by that history.

Until you're an established top drawer actor, you cannot pull off the 'Full Monty monster' and continue in a career. That goes double for a woman. Her career ended in that bed with Connor and was unrecoverable. Perhaps now, with time and change, she might be able to build something new. I wish her joy and success. I'm grateful she has been able to be open and validate others who have spoken.

It is funny.. no, sad. Joss was so vindictive and egotistical he actually killed the entire series because he had to 'get' Charisma for daring to be human.

I hope the world is changing. Humans aren't but maybe the lies aren't so completely concealable anymore.

The fact that Amber Benson came out and supported her only strengthened what she had to share.

and now Sarah!

I think the brown stuff has just hit the swirl bits...

At this point, Im pretty convinced, his campaign to screw CC over was one more part of why then network Pres Jordan Levin slammed the axe nevermind Whedon's prodding the brass that aggressively into an early renewal

It’s strange and sad to know all of that while I’m thinking how they were all happy at the reunion last year.. it was just acting I guess...

I think when the people with the less power come out and speak with one voice, that is telling. Everyone in the main cast has come out in support of Charisma, even two who didn't work with her on Buffy (MT and AB) - that speaks to the pervasive nature of the abuse. I think it's time for us to stop making excuses for Joss because he is brilliant and talented. Just because one is smart and talented doesn't mean they should ever be allowed to abuse others and even destroy people. Particularly not for the entertainment of others. I will always love Buffy, but at this point, I have little respect for Joss Whedon, the person.

Facts. Joss needs to take responsibility and accountability.
I can see hair being more of an issue than tattoos. Unless it's a honking Mike Tyson facial tattoo I don't really see the big deal. You work around it. Tyler Posey got a tattoo he wasn't supposed to in Teen Wolf so they made him keep his shirt on. Oh, the horrors.

You can always covered a tatoo with make up, right?

And that's always true, but people has been doing that for 20+ years. "There's more to it." And because of that women don't come forward, fans defend him and all is good. Next time somebody else says something the same happens. I've seen it in this board too, many times. Doubt the victim.

I suspect that they were happy... to see each other. I get the impression that the cast was seriously close. Maybe BECAUSE it was a hard set to work on. When you work with a monster, one way to survive is to become very close. I always wondered why SMG stopped taking part in the show's publicity bits, DVD specials etc. Now, we know why.

She is an actress yes but also a woman not some barbie doll to never grow old and change. Did DB or JM get stick for growing old?
Honestly, yes. DB got shit for growing old and getting "fat", and JM got shit for growing old and getting "too skinny". I do agree with the idea that, up to a certain extent, being an actor requires certain concessions when it comes to looks, depending on the part. Imo it's not him being upset that's terrible, it's the way he allegedly chose to act on it.

I hope that’s not what I think
I wonder if James or David will say something. Or just a man, until now there are just women who are talking. I’m just curious to know what they will be saying.

Maybe they did not suffer abuse because they are men ? Whedon's letter to his ex wife clearly states about needy young actresses and although DB has not committed JM has no problem with saying he would work with JW again

Well DB needs to be careful as he has his own behavuour issues from Bones but that aside they're both going to be worried about there careers

wasn't the person from Justice League movie Ray Fisher a male?
His not appropriate behaviour. Just so everyone is clear, MT was 14 on S5 Buffy. If what she is suggesting happened then that's not just abusive but pedophilic

If he touched her sexually or spoke to her about sexual things, he could, but if he leered at her and made her feel slimy, that is probably not a prosecutable offense. At this point, even if he had touched her, the statute of limitations may be up. The fact she was that young may allow a case to go forward. I guess we will find out. So very sad. It is time that predators and abusers have their lives ruined instead of destroying the lives of others. It is a tragedy that a show that has such a deeply moral message was created by someone so destructive and hurtful. No matter his own tragedies, he had no right to visit them on others. No matter his power, he had no right to abuse it.

Bad comes from good, I suppose. Still, it is horrible that people suffered abuse and personal and career destruction because of one person's darkness.

I will be forever grateful that 'Buffy' the series got made and now deeply thankful for the strength and grace of the cast for what THEY created in spite of what they survived.

It explain how JM got away with that song and not sack
I literally no words. Other than...
Into every generation a slayer is born, she alone will fight for her beliefs and stand up for hersel, but she’s not alone anymore. She has my support and the support of so many others. She truly is a slayer!!!

@DeepBlueJoy Ray Fisher is a man and his character Cyborg has been dropped. Basically his career is now over for coming forward its one of the reasons CC lists why she came forward

Show gets picked up on a seasonal basis. Sign a contract to be available for whatever it is 3—12 months. Complete that and then evaluate if you want to resign.

As @Taake said though there could be special clauses and time frames which is why I mentioned the timing of the agency calls being important for context.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Whedon is a common problem in workplace issues. I wonder if we'll see a documentary in the future detailing the behind the scenes of some of these shows.

Weird part of that is DB didn't completely look all that "fat" to me coming into the Buffyverse in the FX repeata of Buffy up to S6 and when ATS S5 premiered.

Por QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE??!?!?!

Suddenly that story about Benson not wanting to come back to the show to play the First because it went against what her character stood for, or some nonsense, makes more sense. Maybe she just didn't want to come back period.
