Charles Gunn was reclining in his chair. Kind of battered and brown, it fit right into the somewhat jaded decor of the Hyperion Hotel that served as the epicentre of all things Angel Investigations.
He'd just been in touch with Rondell. "Crew's doing good, from the sounds of it" he thought to himself. His thoughts continued onto whether or not he'd at some point tomorrow make the effort to cross Venice Boulevard and catch up with his old gang - give Rondell a few pointers as to what he'd be doing with the guys if he was still in charge.
Thoughts turned to Alanah. "Man, I miss her.." He often thought of his sister and all the shenanigans they used to get up to growing up together. Hustling for food, shelter, fighting off vamps, all the good times when they laughed together and realised just how close they were. "Those were the good times" he thought.
Not that these weren't good days too. "Got some new friends... and a job that's worth doing, at least". Angel, Wesley, Cordelia and Fred had been an unexpected turn for the better in his life, helping to take it into new and unexplored places. "They got the mission". Still, best to check in with Rondell tomorrow. "Always best to remember where you come from" was Charles' motto nowadays.
He got up to take a phone call as the phone was ringing. "Angel Investigations, how may we help you?".
"Hi Charles, there's something I think we should talk about. Angel, Wes and I are just coming back from getting our food, but there's something that's been on my mind and I'd like to share it with you.."
"Sure, Fred, you know I'm here for you. I'll wait here until you get back".
Putting the phone down, he walked over to where he'd put his custom-designed street axe as he liked to call it. He picked it up, examining it for blemishes; just a mild bloodstain, he'd have to clean that later on after talking with Fred. He was so excited about that girl. Thus, he decided he'd catch up with Rondell after breakfast tomorrow morning with Fred at the diner.
