I liked that he had Faith say, “Because it’s wrong.” and “Who are you?” Lol
I can’t decide if I like that Faith has anger management issues already. I really feel like she shouldn’t be so strong and already going off the rails before she’s even called.
I do feel like these pages felt more like Faith though. And I liked the Kenny stuff.
I don’t know why this irked me, but surely not every single Watcher is British?
I also really liked the "because it's wrong" line and description!
The part at the end of Feb 6 (p 70-71) really emphasized how much being called / becoming the Slayer is so GOOD for Faith, how it feels when she kills. In the dream it's so good for her, and then the drop when she realizes it's not real. Ugh!
I've decided I like that she has anger management issues. Feels realistic to me. I still wonder a little if everything she writes is true. Maybe she is using knives / pens / whatever as a tool when she blacks out and hits people. So to us it seems like she beat them with supernatural / Slayer - ish strength but really she just has an advantage because she's using a knife. Or maybe she doesn't beat them as bad as she claims, like that could also explain her not getting in more trouble for the two beatdowns we're told about.
Ugh, really really hot Steve who turns out to be a klepto. And Kenny the drummer! I also liked the Kenny stuff, and how we are getting the backstory on these two "boyfriends." I love her confidence in talking to Kenny, but also the parts when she isn't so smooth. ("I'm not crazy." "I'm not a groupie.")
Taake: Very nice that we get a first glimpse of what'll become Faith's tattoo!
Yeah I liked this too. I'm not a big fan of that tattoo style in general (it's so 90s frat bro to me) but tying it into the "zombie women" from Faith's dreams is nice.
Belmont Center: Faith in group therapy making people laugh by mentioning Alex as her imaginary friend. Her trying to carefully figure out what to say to Terrance in private therapy, her calculating. This feels very very Faith.
WillowWhispers: So now, is Kenny dead or Alex corporeal...weird stuff!
I could go either way on this. No one else directly interacts with Kenny, that we "see."
And yay! Finally British lady and new guardian Diana appears.
