Buffy the Vampire Slayer Musical Once More, With Feeling to Receive Concert Performance Benefiting Dollywood Foundation

Something to Sing About Productions, New York City's premiere Buffy The Vampire Slayer tribute company, is producing multiple fundraisers in honor of the late Dolly Parton, who was an uncredited producer in the original television program through her company Sandollar Productions.
First up, "Homecoming," the fifth episode of season three of the beloved teen drama, will be staged at The Rat NYC October 15 at 7 PM. All ticket profits will be donated to Ms. Parton’s Imagination Library, one of the most robust book giving programs in the world, as well as to Something to Sing About's longtime charity partner The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), who provide resources and support for the working theatre community of New York City and beyond.
"Homecoming" originally aired November 3, 1998. This reading, featuring a full cast of to-be-announced NYC actors and some surprise special guests, will dramatize Buffy and Cordelia’s battle for homecoming queen in the middle of Slayerfest ‘98, where slayers are hunted for sport. The second will be the long-awaited return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's musical episode, "Once More With Feeling." Following last year’s sold-out run at The Rat, Once More, With Feeling: Live! has been upgraded to a larger venue, celebrating the 25th anniversary of one of Buffy’s most memorable episodes, at Littlefield in Brooklyn November 5 at 8 PM. The original episode began a trend in early-aughts musical episodes in TV series, following the residents of Sunnydale falling under a curse that drives them to burst into song and dance while revealing their innermost secrets. The episode has since become a fan-favorite, featuring songs written by series creator Joss Whedon.
Once More With Feeling: Live! will raise funds for the Entertainment Community Fund and Ms. Parton's Dollywood Foundation. Early release tickets are available here. VIP seating is available.
Something to Sing About Productions released the following statement alongside the early ticket access: "Dolly Parton was a real life hero, fighting against the forces of darkness to usher light and love into our world in every way she could. We are proud to announce that our October 15 reading of the episode 'Homecoming' will raise funds for Dolly’s Imagination Library, one of the most robust book gifting programs in the world, and our November 5 reading of 'Once More With Feeling,' held on the episodes 25th Anniversary, will raise funds for Dolly’s Dollywood Foundation, which will continue her efforts to increase education and literacy throughout the United States in her absence. We will always love you Dolly."
Casting for both readings will be announced at a later date. All readings are produced by Something to Sing About Productions, and directed by founder LaRena Iocco.
