How did Spike and Angel sleep together?

I just reviewed season 5 of Angel but I wonder in what circumstance Spike is Angel have slept together personally I think Angelus has a kind of obsession for Spike that he had an attraction we see in a flashback Angelus often keeps his clamor and the Spike insults him on his sexual oriantation he gets angry my tehory and that Angelus (Angelus not Angel) is a bit Bisexual and Spike Straight that Spike had just broken up with Dru he was depressed and drunk and we know Angelus he slept with him ... for spike i think it didn't represent anything it shows he doesn't show much interest for Angel but for Angelus it made him feel something (like Spike for Buffy in season 6) Spike is loyal enough and didn't want to do it again and I doubt Spike is much attraction to Angel / Angelus

What are your opinions (yes I have a lot of questions about the Spangel as I watch season 5 ^^)

I think writers stuck some throwaway line in there for fans to latch onto, but never made it canon. Basically, it's there to grab or ignore as individuals wish.
Yes it's true personally I think they did (even if the more I think about it the more it is less credible since he would never have cheated on Dru)

It probably happened back in the Whirlwind Days, maybe in the early days when Spike was first turned. Angelus has that whole 'I've bee wanting to share the pleasure of killing with another man ... you don't think that makes me a deviant" line, which is very suggestive. He and Spike bonded a lot in the early days.

I hardly think Angelus had an "obsession" for Spike (if anything, it's Spike who has always clamoured for Angel/Angelus' approval "You were my sire, man, you were my Yoda") but I have no doubt the two of them bumped uglies at some point, as did all of the Whirlwind (except possibly Darla and Spike). As far as I'm concerned, pretty much all vampires are bisexual and it's always up for interpretation/suggestion as to who slept with whom.

I don't really agree with vampires Bisexual knowing Spike he would be bi he would have slept with a lot more men than he would have accepted the threesome with another man but he didn't want Spike is the type I do what I want I go where I want he would surely have more attraction for men because he has none he is mostly indifferent to men .... and I don't know how to sleep with an extra man what 200 years is being hetero for me there are also a lot of hetero who slept with a person of the same sex it doesn't really mean much

The only scenario that makes sense to me- if I'm gonna go with the 'they actually had sex one time, it's canon' take- is this; some scenario where Angelus came home drunk and horny and looking for Darla; she wasn't around so he made do with the other 'compliant blonde' in the form of Spike. Angelus doesn't remember that much about it the next morning but Spike, Spike is obsessed. Maybe he resented being the bottom, maybe he secretly enjoyed it which is why he's so hilariously macho.
So he suppresses and bitterly calls Angel 'nancy boy' and 'poufter' all the time which smacks a lot of 'notice me, notice me!'

But Angel, remembering none of the above encounter, just treats Spike like the irritant he is, but even if Angel did recall he wouldn't really care because he's not screamingly insecure about his sexuality....

Not that I'm at all convinced on the sexual angle but it would match their on-screen dynamic.

yes, I could see this happening (though I'm of the camp with they didn't), and like it because it DOES add texture to their character dynamic, though there is also how he was treated as "less than a man" as a mortal, too.

I don't really think Spike is appreciated until he has slept with another man and then usually you have fun so yes he must have enjoyed it (personally I don't even think they are attracted to one leaves the other) I also think that Spike was drunk because cheated Dru impissible for him Spike is someone quite faithful so cheating on her with Angelus without being drunk that would be enough OOT

When does Spike refuse a threeseome with another man?

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not even considering the bisexuality of vampires (creatures who are often used in fiction to explore sexuality) is a little closed-minded, IMO. Plus I think there are a lot of instances where Spike shows attraction to Angel, and possibly even other male characters if you look (he and Xander have some moments).

Also, I think that fact that he blatantly states that he and Angel have been intimate at least once is a good indicator that Spike is not 100% straight.

in the episode "crush" Harmony says "I hope it's not what I think because my answer is the same as the other times I accept a threesome only if it's 1 man 1 man 1 woman "she insists on my answer is the same as the other times it means that Spike did not want a threesome with 1 other man
In ATS I don't know who offers him a drink anymore I think Lindsay Spike answers sorry you're not my "type" more I don't really find that Spike shows attraction for men ok there is tension sexual but JM has one with the majority of people and I don't think that sleeping with a man makes you bi especially if it is once personally I am a 100% hetero woman and I have already slept with a woman so I don't think Spike and Angel say a lot about their sexuality once

I always assumed that all four of them slept together at some point, maybe more than once. A sort of orgy?

Vampirism seems to also suggest a sexual fluidity. It is also likely that Spike and Angel slept together as well. Maybe they got a little drunk and got it on and Dru and Darla watched 😉

I totally disagree, in fact Angel and Spike were most surprised when they found out that Darla did it with Drusilla.

I don't think he slept in a foursome Darla and Dru refused it's said leave Angelus himself if not I think that Spike and Angel was drunk slept together that it does not necessarily have more to Spike and Angel and no spoke more and for fluidity I don't think I would call it fluidity but more like "they don't have to follow the rules" I think vampires keep human sexuality and I find that he systematically chooses the opposite sex Angelus says "they don't swing around here" Spike says "You're not my type" he also refuses a threesome with another man and doesn't seem to show much attraction to men (although when he is in love with Buffy he does not show any to women) Darla and Dru seem very happy to continue without the immortal if I had to give an estimate (and I also think that if Spile loved men, he would have slept with more than one man)

if i had given an estimate of the vampires

Angel: 99% straight (yes I always had the feeling that Angelus had raped men)
Spike: 100% straight (he seems really straight to me sorry)
Darla: 60 hetero and 40% the rest (woman, demon ...)
Dru: 85% hetero and 25% women
Harmony: 100% hetero

Harmony is 99.9% Hetero. There is Charlize Theron after all

Definitely agree with this! For me, reading any vampire as straight just doesn't work or make sense. They've often been used as metaphors for sexuality, plus, I mean, they're immortal bloodthirsty creatures who have bigger things to worry about than labelling their sexuality.

The Whirlwind being together for a decade with their varying sexualities makes for some very interesting scenarios!

Are all vampires capable or even willing to be bisexual, yes. Does that mean they all will, no. Angel and Spike always had a loathing or a dislike for each other. Just because they are demons is no excuse or reason for them to indulge in being nice to each other or to themselves with each other. They do have that most human of sentiments, choice! Other vampires may but that is also choice. Do they care what others think of them? Doubtful.
Then of course there is the other viewpoint; terms like bisexual and homosexual they are both human terms, do you think they are they demon?

I totally disagree that vampires are bisexual or fluid and I think bisexuals should have a better representation than vampires who are supposed to be "evil" that would mean bisexuals are bad I don't really understand why you think that vampires are bi (be careful, I respect your opinion) it's like saying that a black man is a serial killer because some of them are I do not say anything rasiste I just took the first thing that me was going through my head back to the subject I find that Spike and Angel show a lot of times that they are hetero spike in crush "I hope that is not what I think because my answer is the same as the" others times "I accept a threesome with 1 man 1 man 1 woman spike had often insisted on a threesome with two women and didn't want a threesome with another man there is also Lidnsay who brings a drink Spike he says you're not my type then Angelus sorry I don't rock not on this side so I don't know they look straight to me and even if they slept together once does not define your sexuality and it is even a lot that over 200 years Spike only sleeps with 1 man because if he were bi there would have been more men ...

Wow, I'd call that a radical interpretation of the text. I'm not trying to claim that vampires are always great representation of bisexuality, nor am I trying to imply in any way that bisexuals are evil just because they can be represented by vampires in media.

Again, I reiterate, this interpretation of vampires representing fluid sexuality/bisexuality is nothing new. While it can sometimes be used as a negative metaphor (the original Carmilla novella is a good example of this) more modern media in particular is very good at using vampirism as a metaphor for sexuality (across the whole spectrum) with examples like Interview with the Vampire, True Blood and the webseries Carmilla all being great explorations of sexuality linked to vampirism.

Again, everyone is entitled to their own interpretation of characters, but it does seem like this thread was created with the sole purpose of reiterating over and over that Spike is straight, with not much room for discussion of his (and other vampires') sexuality.

I really don't understand why all vampires are thought of as bi.
Are we talking about just this series or about the whole Vampire thing from the House of Hammer?
Because vampires were all about when the demon removed a human's soul AND the humans inhibitions, so the vampire becoming bi was a given.

I'm sorry I didn't want to be sure it's that I can't understand that if human you are not attracted to men and you turned into vampires you are directly attracted to men afterwards we can say that they can be a little more fexible without soul of the heteroflexible kind possible because I find that bi is a big word especially for Harmony, Spike and Angel one could heteroflexible for vampires without soul

I think with vampires, there is a confusing of two drives: the sexual and the desire for blood. Presumably, most vampires would feel sexual attraction to the same types they did while human. However, as vampires, they feel lust for human blood, and most seem willing to take it from either gender equally.

It appears to me that Spike is sexually attracted to women, and even orients toward women for friendship, while mostly ignoring or disliking men. However, he will drink blood from men and women, and since that act has sexual overtones, it is easy to believe that it might cross over into sex. Or vice versa, that he might feel a sexual draw to a man, because of his blood lust.

Obviously, vampires would no longer have any moral qualms they might have had in life about sexuality, and it stands to reason that they would be more willing to experiment. In the case of Angelus and Spike, it seems more likely to me that it would be something initiated, or even forced, by Angelus, but that's mainly because Spike does continue to have hang-ups about appearing stereotypically heterosexually masculine. Whereas Angelus, despite seeming predominantly heterosexual, delights in overthrowing societal norms and therefore might experiment just for the fun of doing it. Also, he dominates Spike a lot during the Whirlwind era, and might have used sex as a way to dominate him. However, the fact that Spike mentions it voluntarily implies to me that it was a mutual act, but he still needs to tell himself "it was just one time" to maintain his self-image of being a tough hetero man.

Other than Darla, I think Angelus would only have sex with someone to inflict anguish...and inclined to think even his sex with Dru was more to torment Spike. I can think of a demonic reason Spike loves to call Angel names, too.
