How Long Is Your Hair?

Getting really long, so it lives in twin braids on the days I shower and a half-up do on the days I don't. Last night was the first night of the year that I put my hair in a bun to sleep, I usually always have it loose during the night. Waiting for a bonnet to come in the mail so I can put it in that when I sleep 🙂

I just ripped out a heap of hair last night trying to move it from under my armpit. Some how a whole handful came out from the top of my head when my hand got tangled. So Im on the look out for a bonnet now. I suspect it will be too hot to wear in summer but I think it will be worth a shot rather than tangling myself (it was in a plait but had fallen loose).

Havr you tried using silicone hair scrunchies to tie braid? They dont hurt hair like other ties. They look like old phone handset cords.

I dont care about my appearance that much 😂 people here are too distracted by my fatness to worry about my hair-do. I have started wearing my summer headscarf anyway now and always wear a hat on walkies.

If you can deal with the heat when it comes to hats and the like, then you're covered! (no pun intended).
 
I cut it quite short (on the chin level) a while ago, now it is below-the-shoulders-long. The current style is layered and I dye it magenta sometimes.

Its shape looks like a shorter version of this (but obviously, not always styled and usually more wavy):

No hat no play! My scalp gets sunburnt and I'd hate to get skin cancer there too.

Loving the bonnet so far but only had it a few days. And yeah, not sure how it will go in summer. But for now its super comfortable, doesnt come off in the night, and there is no way I can manage to strangle myself with it 😀

Might buy another as I think it will need at least as much washing as a pillowcase, maybe more, and since it wants hand washing it takes ages to dry. Would like a different colour but kmart only had black. Does the job!

Maybe for Summer you can buy one of those hats that has a little fan attached to keep you cool! ;)
About shoulder length, now. It was a little shorter when I first got it cut, but not much. I'll need to get it trimmed soon.

Please note I did not suggest you do it during the day, because then I'd be suggesting that you are sleeping during the day, nice aren't I - tee hee.
Anyway if you do liberally coat your hair with Brylcreem before you go to sleep your cotton pillow cases will soon have the appearance of Satin pillow cases, that way you get satin like pillow cases bloody cheap-ish!

Well since i actually LIKE my hair and my bed and my pillow... Uhm no. 🙂 But it is an amusing prank. Lotsa people used brylcreem when i was little. That takes me back.
 
'Ere what's so nasty about the Brylcreem stuff, I use it daily. I like the sheen it gives the leaves on my Rose bushes.
 
Part of me wants to grow my hair, it's already waist length, but I want it long. However the other part of me says that, I already don't do anything with it, so what's the point.
 
Waist length isn't long? 😀 Mine never even reaches my shoulders! Okay, admittedly when it's long enough to do so, the curl stops it from doing so.

It might be long, but the dream is thicker longer hair. Pretty hair. Not long boring hair like I have now!
 
Thick hair and pretty hair are not necessarily the same thing!
 
I'm due for a trim soon. And next year am contemplating cutting off a decent chunk. As someone with very long hair, it probably really needs it.
