How the hell was your day? ๐Ÿ•

Took the dogs to the duck pond. There were lots of colourful tiny baby ducklings! So tiny and cute. I miss my ducks but with the bird flu here now, I am relieved I dont have them anymore.

I like the rearranged loungeroom so far. Both the dog are curled up next to me now. I was planning on baking brownies for the BBQ tomorrow, but now I am not moving so will just slice some fruit to take instead. That reminds me, I should pick my lemons and weird orange hybrids to take with me to share. I was wondering if the weird hybrids are yuzus but I dont know enough about them to be sure. Maybe they are grapefruit and I just need to leave them longer? I duno.

The power went out again today, so unfortunately I couldn't do the vacuuming.

Nothing like the power going out to remind you how reliant you are on it. Mine goes out and I'm like "Okay, can't watch TV. I'll -- right, can't go on the internet. Well, maybe -- oh, no light for reading. I could -- nope, no coffee pot without power. Well, maybe -- no, I shouldn't open the fridge unless I have to. I could - no, no playing board games in the dark." I'm a mess without it. ๐Ÿ˜›

I'd already seen the neighbours for a cuppa this morning, and taken the dogs for long walks around town so we decided to go down to the coast for an afternoon walk by the water. It was warm and still, the water was like glass. I tried to take photos of the poodle but she was mesmerised by it and refused to look at me. We had a nice little walk, there were very few people and only one other dog.

My preferred cuppa is "joe," but I do like a good Earl Grey. You can blame Jean-Luc for that, if you like.

Growing up, whenever we took the dogs to the lake, my gordon setter Jazz (Jasmine) would always jump right in the water at the first opportunity. She would then proceed to immediately panic and paddle wildly because she was in over her head. But it wouldn't stop her next time. Silly dog. I say that with love.

So it was peaceful. Both dogs were so well behaved and seemed to enjoy it. They tire out fast in new places! All the new sniffs to do. They found a rabbit or maybe a bandicoot trail, so that was great for them. We saw a few lizards on the paths sunning themselves too.

A bandicoot? Have you seen Crash around? Tell me I said "hey." ๐Ÿ˜›

I was waiting for a phone appointment all day, which stuck me in freeze mode most of the day. I dont really know exactly what it is for, they are vague but the last GP I saw sent a referral to them, and he was very good, so I will go along with it for now. She did say I was in control and it wasnt a mental health order, but I definitely meet access for community assistance. I know I can manage about 3 appointments before I have a nervous breakdown, so Im hoping the face to face appointment is a few months away.

I hate face-to-face appointments. And you'd think that the phone would give the distance to ease that, but not by a lot, I find. I have a phone appointment once a week, and I always dread it. It's never as bad as I fear, but I never want to take it, and if I'm feeling the least bit out of sorts (a cold starting or a lack of sleep), I seize that as a valid excuse to avoid it. I know I shouldn't. But then I shouldn't drink so much coffee either. As the man sang, "some things are bad for me, and some things I just can't resist."

I really hope it is more than just chatting about feelings. I did that for years and it didnt help at all, but maybe they can refer me to something else if they arent the right place. I duno yet. We'll see. If its another dead end I dont want to try again. Im pretty safe in this house and I dont want to jeopardise that.

I know therapy is good for some people, and I'm glad, but not everyone has the same means of processing things, so it's not the best tool for everyone. I never found it particularly helpful. At best, I liked my therapist, in which case it was like talking to a friend. At worst, I didn't like them, and it was a waste of time and energy. That's just me, though.

Anyway, instead of just replying to other people, how about I actually talk about my day? I know. I follow instructions as well as a drunk beagle. Well, maybe a little better. ๐Ÿ˜›

I got about four hours of sleep last night, so ... tired. Though that's pretty much my default setting. I've never slept enough. But when I was young, I had the energy to make up the difference. I'm not saying I'm old now, but ... okay, so I'm saying I'm old now. Like the man said, "I'm too old for this ****." If you don't know what I'm talking about, you are in a cultural vacuum, and I would like to help you escape before you suffocate. Come over. I'll get the movies. It's going to be a long week. ๐Ÿ˜›

I have had two cups of coffee and, to quote my favorite starship captain, "on a day like today, it won't be my last." I was hoping to grab another one from the store on the corner, but they betrayed me by being out of stock. I don't know what I ever did to them, but as the bunny said, of course, you know, this means war. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm with a friend at an appointment at the moment because she suffers from social anxiety, which means I often accompany her to official things, stealing the internet from the local public library. Libraries. They're not just for books anymore. And I'm wearing my sunglasses indoor. No, not 'cause I'm cool. Because I don't like to make eye contact with strangers. Oh, uh. I mean because I'm cool. Right.

Got up krazy early (for moi). Went to the gym and then took walk round the old neighborhood.
Got back home and took a long hot bath. Now still got most the rest the day to just chill, watch stuff & order in. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was up at just after seven because a friend butt dialled me. That was annoying!
I've been on and off Facebook for a few weeks out of sheer boredom. It was fun for awhile, but I soon realised it's almost as mind numbing as Twitter and Instagram. Is it just me, or have people become more idiotic over the last few years? Seems like nearly everyone wants to argue about everything.

Speaking of social media, the crackdown on "colourful language" is so infantile. Instagram is the worst in this regard. That's why I'm rarely there anymore. And Facebook has SO many people who tell others to "be kind." Definitely makes me feel like a bull right before it gores the matador to death. ๐Ÿ˜…

I'd much prefer being pleasant and chatty...unfortunately the internet makes it difficult sometimes. But I'm not gonna lie, going after people who've singled me out is EXTREMELY enjoyable. Dark Willow time!

For the record, I actually have at least]/u] twenty pillows. ๐Ÿ˜„ Mainly because I put a lot of them under the futon's original mattress. I've owned it since 2015, so the mattress isn't as firm as it used to be. Yup, I've been plopping my butt down on it for awhile.
Speaking of mattresses, my beautiful, angelic dog ripped a huge hole in my almost brand new memory foam mattress, so that's that.

Today is shaping up to be a pretty boring day. It's opressively hot, so I'm dreading going outside. I'm about to head to the library to pick up some materials, then drive my boyfriend to take his drug test for his new job. After that, back home, make some food, languish in the kiddlie pool for a while, then binge The Vampire Dairies. Tomorrow is the beginning of my work week, so I want to be all rested.

My sister's dog does things like that when he doesn't get his way. He's about a year old, and really enjoys destruction. He's also hooked on peanut butter, and if he doesn't get his daily fix, things go south very quickly. He's like a furry little crackhead. He also has a disturbing habit of staring directly into your eyes without blinking.

Recently my sister had her carpet professionally deep cleaned and it cost quite a bit. The 'Canine of Chaos' waited until she left the house and intentionally pooped everywhere. This was definitely an act of premeditated pooping because he NEVER did that when the carpet was dirty. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Michael Jackson tribute show tonight! YAY! I am SO excited! I read the dress code for the place and it says no big bags, I only have big bags! So Im trying to crochet a little bag now to take. I hope I finish it in time! The dogs have clued into the fact I am leaving them and they are being ridiculously clingy.

My neighbour dropped in with cauliflower from his garden and said he doesnt mind the singing. So thats lucky cos spontaneous song has been happening ALL day.

That sounds so sun! Speaking of fun, I just got a call today that I won two tickets to see a musical production of Oklahoma! I'm stoked.

I guess this post is premature as this day has only just begun for me, but I plan to do laundry, stop by the library, and then I work at 5.

The show was excellent! I had so much fun. It was a tough crowd, typical uptight country town, a bit frosty but once everyone warmed up it was a really great atmosphere. It was just a small stage team, as I expected, being a regional show. I would go again tomorrow if it was on! Alas, its a one night only sort of deal. The singer said he would be back late next year, so I have a while to really get those dance moves down. I would get the same seat again because then I could dance in the isle ๐Ÿ˜› The performer hit the notes, the dance moves and the drama of a Michael show. The only thing that I was disappointed about is that they didn't do the song HIStory when it was supposed to be based on the History tour. I was glad that they added Bad, that was a lot of fun!

It may have been a mistake to put real Michael on the screen behind him during Human Nature, because I could not take my eyes off the screen and watch the impersonator. But it did also show how close he was getting with the moves, despite a different body type. Smooth Criminal was, of course, my favourite, he even did the lean ๐Ÿ˜€ But it was early in the show so the crowd wasn't feeling it like I was. I was doing the moves in my seat. Everyone was absolutely buzzing at interval. I didnt hear a single bad word from anyone in the toilet line lol. I will be surprised if I have a voice tomorrow after belting out for over 2 hours. There are not many shows through here but I will go to every single Michael Jackson show I can from now on. Totally worth it.

The drive was long, and I expect to be sore tomorrow. It was both smokey and foggy, so the drive home was harrowing. I just took it easy. Its really eerie to drive on an unlit highway like that, I only saw a handful of cars the whole way. I had to get a coffee to keep me alert but now I dont want to go to bed. No wonder poor ol MJ couldn't get to sleep after that kind of magic music!

Reason: I cant spell michael

Reddit wins the award for most idiotic. Its so full of rage bots. I truly fear for society on some of those subs. I try to stick to flowers, fandom and crochet but all are swamped by AI.

I really noticed the AI on instagram today as well. Its feeding me Micheal Jackson, so big tick for that - but its got so many AI generated pictures, written captions and altered vocals. Its hard to know whats real.

There was a fat lady doing the moonwalk and I was genuinely impressed, then two scrolls later, another video saying that the fat ladies feet were AI. Now I feel dirty for liking it. Its just so offputting.

I was chatting to an old real life friend the other night and she expressed embarrassment about her previous facebook posts that shared a lot of her life and mental health struggles. I told her it would be far more embarrassing to pimp your life (or kids) out solely for happy likes only. And we wonder why people feel more disconnected with increasing connection technologies... I am not embarrassed about my online vents and breakdowns, many people tell me they can relate or they understand. Heck, how many have joined forums with the intent to study its members?! Especially on this one!

I am way more embarrassed by posts that tried to pander to things I dont truly believe. It feels like lying rather than being kind and I need to correct that going forward. I cant want other people on the internet to be real if I am not being real myself in wording posts like that.

I am threatening my family with buying a drum kit for my nephew. Kid has language and speech issues but boy has a beat on him! He's barely 5, but wow, he can keep a rhythm. Time for him to be introduced to Michael Jackson and start to develop his poetry into music. No wonder my sister hates me lol.

Its been a great day for me. I got so much out of the meeting today because my brain was working this morning. Took the dogs for a walk at lunchtime and they were delightful. No silliness, street snacks or dragging me. Neighbour dropped in with free whiskey and ham this arvo.

Had this on all day, so thats been wonderful as well ๐Ÿ˜€

My day was good! We're celebrating my birthday today, a day early, since my husband has to work tomorrow. I got another set of ear piercings, had a nice day and we went out to eat and my husband spoiled me, though he's planned the actual big celebration for the 9th lol and refuses to tell me what it is only that I am to have fun.

Happy almost-birthday!
Took neighbour to the city for an appointment today. I got a few things, flower seeds and aldi chocolate. On the way out I went thru maccas for chips and coffee. I dont think my neighbour had ever been though a drivethru before. He commented on oh so you pay here and pick up there? That was fast! I was too busy dancing to smooth criminal to pay him much notice but it occurred to me after that he was amazed by the whole experience lol. He ate all of my chips.

My day was all right. I got to the gym and had a great workout! Looking forward to this weekend lol. I also had a ton of fic ideas pop into my brain. After struggling through about a month of having no executive function or creativity, I feel so energized to finally have creativity flowing through me again.

Still adjusting to having another set of ear piercings in my ears (birthday gift from me to me lol)

My aunt and uncle gave me a $100 amazon gift card... I have no idea what I'm getting (other than more Buffy stuff!) lol
