How the hell was your day? πŸ•

Just back from a long walk/run. Beautiful outside! πŸ™‚ Now just hanging out... 😳

Took a short hike in Griffith Park earlier. I have so much energy now, after quitting those gummies. And I've actually lost 10 pounds since last week. 😳 I read that THC can slow down your digestion, so that would explain a lot.

During my hike, I encountered an old hippie chick walking her golden retriever..She was awesome, just so laid back. Her dog's name was Hanoi Jane. πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ I love those old hippies. Most of them are so real, unlike those posers at Coachella.

Might gain it back eating those double quarter pounders. πŸ˜‰
Lovely day, and I went for a walk along the lakeshore with a friend. We were able to cadge a few leftover granola bars from an official walk that had ended earlier. We had a delicious Thai lunch, and I have leftovers for tonight. Alas, my car is acting up again, so it's another trip to the mechanic for me. I wish it would work long enough for me to brave researching buying a new car, because I really need to.

If you are looking for something to help you sleep, maybe it isn't your metabolism that is causing the problem.

My girlfriend keeps a supply of cascarilla (pronounced cas ca ree uh) whose purpose is to prevent ghosts from entering the room. It works! I went from tossing and turning and being unable to sleep to being able to get into a deep sleep with it. It is supplied looking like sidewalk chalk and each piece is in a 1 inch diameter paper cup of the type used for ketchup in some fast food places and it is supplied with the top of the cascarilla level with the top of the cup. It is made from egg shells but neither of us know how it is made. You crumble pieces of it in your hand and blow it onto the surface you want protected. One cup supplies enough to keep a room clear many times. When combined with incense, it provides a restful sleep. She got her supply for $40 from a couple in the Bronx many years ago and the amount was about the volume of two bags of sugar. It may not be expensive, but it is a 14-hour drive from Toronto the the Bronx and it was worth it.
I'm unclear: does it work because the scent combined with incense helps you sleep, or because it is keeping ghosts out of the room? Sleep is precious, so whatever works for you is great! Though I would like some ghosts of relatives to come and visit me.

@Anyanka Bunny Slayer I find that melatonin helps pretty well, just about 1.5 mg a night.

I might try that. For a while I was using 25 to 50 mg of Benadryl at night to sleep. But unfortunately sometimes the Benadryl gave me these really really weird dream

Had morphine after the accident. Gave me realistic surreal dreams. Not good combo. 😦

Weird dreams can be a side effect of melatonin, though I found they stopped after a while for me.
I keep googling why I feel so awesome when the air pressure drops. Those storms that just passed had category 2 cyclone conditions, and all I know is that I felt immense relief in my body, especially euphoric in the moments before the rain hit. Google keeps telling me that I am wrong, that rain brings migraine, but mine goes away when it rains and is terrible in blue skies. I cant get my head around it. I feel tons better when it is raining, and google keeps telling me noooo that cant be. So maybe its something else that the weather brings? I dont know but I wish I could figure it out!

This may be a difference in the concentration of positive and negative ions in the air. Negative ions tend to bring about more relief and comfort to the extent that negative ion generators are sold as appliances for a room in the house. Some furnace / air conditioning systems have negative ion generators that double as electrostatic air cleaners for the entire house.

Oooh I am going to go read up more about this. I forgot about the negative ion thing, if I can put them in the air con I will!

@Ethan Reigns gave a good explanation. My only thought was that maybe you work better with more humidity in the air?

Definitely could be that too, because the summer heat is a dry heat here and it is hell on earth for me!
Actually, I've been burning incense for a couple of years. Nag Champa and Black Orchid are my absolute favourites. What kind do you like? 😊
Unfortunately my allergies have been acting up so I haven't been able to burn incense or candles for a while πŸ₯²

But I used to do lavender incense, and my fav candles were apple cinnamon, vanilla, pumpkin spice, etc. Not really a big fan of lemon scented stuff...like its gross to me

Today is my brother's birthday (he died 7 years ago). He was favourite sibling and I miss him terribly. My sister asked if I wanted to ride with her to visit his grave. There's no way I could've handled that so I didn't go.

Anyway, I bought a small German chocolate cake (his absolute favourite!) then put a few candles on it. Sang Happy Birthday and managed not to cry, thankfully.

Fun fact...his ringtone for me was "The power of Christ compels you!" from The Exorcist. πŸ˜…

so sorry, your very strong!
UGh I really wanted to go out today but the blue skies are back and I can barely see! I am hoping the aura goes away and then I can go for a maccas run and take the dogs for a walk on the coast.

Mixed day today. My toddler leveled up to a toddler bed last night. She did sleep on the bed for her naps today. Unfortunately, she also dumped her toys, books, stuffy and blanket in the dirty diaper trash. I sprayed the stuffy with Lysol and my sinuses hate me now lol. But she's doing great.

My car has a cooling issue in the engine though, praying it's not super expensive to fix.

Aside from those things, it's been a good day. I got some time to mess around on my guitar, work on fanfic and do some sketching. I'm currently relaxing with some nice tea.

Both my cars have cooling issues. On the Miata, the radiator fan came apart. The fan is formed around a metal hub and this hub has pulled loose from it. With the Impreza, the cooling system burps out coolant from the rad cap, so I hope the problem isn't worse than that. If I have to replace the thermostat, it is under the intake manifold and the whole thing has to come off.

Speaking of cars, I washed mine today. Its still out on the lawn drying off. I will wax it tomorrow if its warm enough. I got some cleaner/protection spray to detail the inside as well.

Took the dogs walkies this morning. Blonde dog got time off lead in the playground cos no one was there. She loves it, climbs the rocks, jumps and walks across planks. Shes not keen on the sandpit, which is the poodles favourite.

Dinner will be easy from the freezer, so a pretty cruisey day.

After my boss cancelling my work on Friday, I've now had a message to stay on today, nope I've got plans. And I've made enquiries about a new job

Good luck
Friend from work (who's longtime Celiac) gave me a big plastic bag full of gluten free stuff to help me figure out things I might like.
They also said that, after my trip, we should hang out and he'd show me some things I could make.
Also said they''d take me shopping at certain area store that has good gluten free selection.
They could've just told me to 'give them a call if I had any questions', but they went out of their way to help me.
That was really sweet of them. Told them how much I appreciated it. 🩡

I felt like my day was full today, but it was much the same as yesterday. Walkies, cleaning the inside of the car, gardening and topping up the pond. I picked some spring onion from the garden for dinner soup. Now Im in front of the tv with dogs on my lap while I do my crochet. Winter is lovely, but the fear of a returning summer is not going away.
