How the hell was your day? πŸ•

Oh forgot they also gave me a book - 'Idiots Guide To Celiac'. That made me giggle πŸ˜€

Once again it's too sunny, and once again I was out of Coke. A nice cold six pack. Really needed it so out to the market I went. My sunburn wasn't too bad at least! 😁

Tiring but all right! Nice weather so got a shuffling jog-walk in with the toddler in the jogging stroller, did some art, and broke in my new tablet's projector mode by watching OMWF with the toddler in her room, which she loved, then practiced guitar and am now mentally preparing myself for the cleaning of the kitchen lol. Leaving the laundry for my husband since he enjoys it.

Last night's concert was amazeballs! Finally sold out day before. Was last date on European leg to do so. So that was good. On our way to Versailles! Gonna try to hit Louvre after. Apparently they were closed yesterday. Didn't know till were there. That's ok, cause forgot paper gift receipt (they didn't send email version till later) that bestie gave me . It's sorta close. So will make stop. Dunno bout after...

Power was out all day, so I took the dogs for a drive again. Had a few stops along the way to the coast for extra sniffs. They love the marina as much as I do. I got a hot drink and they said hello to other doggos, tried to chase the seagulls and then I drove home again. Now they are both asleep on my lap under the heater. I am curious to see if their tummies will wake them up for dinner time in ten minutes haha.

Started the first part of the day off doing housework. Then I decided to come outside and do a little sunbathing in this amazing heat.

Then I was thinking about doing some yard work but I decided against it because they say thats how you get heatstroke, which seems preposterous to a heat lover like myself who thinks 90Β°F is on the cooler side.
I'll wait until later in the week when its mid 90s outside. 🀣

So at the moment, I'm sunbathing, buffy boarding, and watching some Skyeward fan videos.

This one might be a masterpiece..😍

Last time I was in Nevada, it was 116F/42C. 90F does seem a bit cool.
My neighbour came round this morning to tell me another neighbour just died. He was only in his 70's but has pretty much gone downhill since he got a hip replacement a few years ago. He went through all the rehab to get back on his feet and then nearly immediately had a fall, broke his ribs, got mouth cancer and then was on oxygen the last few months for emphysema. He wasnt on hospice yet, so it was his cleaner who found him on deaths door and drove him to the hospital where he died later that day. Possibly a blessing, he hated the cold and couldnt start his fire anymore because of the oxygen tank. So he was pretty much just rotting in his chair.

I took the dogs to the post office and the playground where they did crazy zoomies in the light rain. We've pretty much been inside since then cos the has rain set in. Once again waiting for my grocery delivery to get here so I can start making dinner.

My current car is falling apart, so I've had to accelerate my search for another car. It's all a bit overwhelming, as my current car is 20 years old, so I don't even know what's out there. My library allows me a free subscription to Consumer Reports, which has been phenomenally useful, but is rather an overload of info! Anyway, I hope I will have something sorted in a couple weeks.

What's worse is that cheap small cars, which is what I looked for, are now just small.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time, too. Car troubles suck- they're SO stressful! Hope things get better for you soon!
@NotASlayer What's worse is that cheap small cars, which is what I looked for, are now just small.

And not very small! I want a subcompact, like I've always had, and there are almost none that size anymore. Even ones that used to be small, like the Honda Civic, have lengthened. By 3.5 feet, in that case! I've always enjoyed being able to fit into parking spaces that a lot of other cars couldn't, but I guess those days are done. And no question, the prices are gobsmacking.

My mazda 2 is by far the easiest "city" car I have ever had, especially in a place surrounded by giant 4wd utes!

Yeah, we have a lot smaller cars here. Mine's a Fiat Panda, which is pretty tiny. Yet oddly roomy inside, heightwise. You need a European car!
Been better.

Wednesday afternoon my mom collapsed (at a Dr's office ironically enough). She hit her head on the way down and there's blood in her pants. She's taken to ER where they determine she has a GI bleed, probably from Diverticulitis. (She has a history of this, with an incident every 2 years or so). Dad stays with her.

The bleeding appears to have stopped so they keep her until Thursday about noon, then discharge her. At 6pm she's very dizzy and obviously bleeding again. They take back to the ER. She's in the ER for almost 24 hours since they have no rooms available, but they finally get one and she starts the crash prep for an emergency colonoscopy yesterday about 6. (If you think a normal prep is bad, for an emergency one you have to drink about a gallon of the liquid in four hours). She's feeling better. I'm with her for a chunk of the evening. Colonoscopy scheduled for this morning.

Just got message from Dad that she's apparently bleeding again. Getting transfusions, and colonoscopy is postponed until she is more stable. Dad is with her now. I'm working, but am oncall if I need to relive Dad.

So yeah, not a good couple of days.

Had to park on the street last night, since our parking lot was full. This morning I was going to run errands and saw that some MF tried to break into my truck. Guess it was a screwdriver he used on my door because the entire assembly was practically hanging off. Tried using my key to open the door but zero joy. So I climbed into the passenger side and reached over to open the other lock.

Yes, I was pissed off and thinking horrible things. But I let it go. What's done is done, there's nothing I can do about now. Everything happens for a reason, so I'll just hang on to that thought.

(But I'd still like to find the guy and stab him repeatedly)

I guess it's good that they didn't succeed in getting in, but every time you see that damage, you will remember your rage. Ask me how I know! Sorry.
Finished off the NXNE series last night - North by North East, a set of music performances in dozens of venues in Toronto inspired by SXSW, the more famous music festival in the US. My daughter went some nights with her husband and two nights with me. On Thursday, we went to Duffy's Tavern and saw four acts, the latter two of which were good and last night, we went to a venue that was part of a hotel/residential complex in downtown Toronto that featured an opening act on piano followed by Nemahsis, a Palestinian girl with one of the smoothest voices I have ever heard, both doing their own compositions. A lot of her fans were singing along and if she missed a word (she hadn't performed in a few years), one girl in the front row filled in for her. This was a worthwhile event, especially for the $49 price for any or all performances out of the hundreds in the city.

Despite the glaring sunshine, I went to Target for Coke. I must have it always! Amazon wouldn't have it here until tomorrow, so off I went. I've gotten used to climbing into the truck through the passenger side, so it's all good. I can exit through the driver side once it's unlocked, which is REALLY important in case of an emergency!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. They got things stabilized and she was finally discharged yesterday evening. I learned that part of the reason why this one was worse than usual is that she is now on blood thinners. This made it a good time to point out that since I'm MPOA for both of them, I probably need access to a medication list so i can answer questions if needed.

I have been working late all week. I work for a church, and they are forcing me to be the "official photographer" for vacation bible school this week. It hasn't been as bad as I thought (the kids are having fun, and watching their reactions to everything is cute), but I am worn out. I aint as young as I used to be, and I have a medical condition that causes me to get overheated pretty fast. I have been coming home every night drenched in sweat and taking cold showers just to get my body back to a normal temp. I will be so happy when today is over.

Heat sucks!
Thought I'd fixed the truck's door but it pretty much gave me the finger when I tried to open it . So I crawled in through the passenger side. Again. πŸ˜„

Right now I'm sitting with my mom. She's fast asleep and I'm about to leave in a few minutes. I parked right in front of this place's door...in their driveway. Normally I park on the street, but didn't feel like doing that today. We're not supposed to park where I am, but it's $8,000 a month for mom's care and these people can suck it.

Since mom is asleep, I'm leaving. I really have a tast not a strawberry shake.

Edit: The truck won't start. Grrrr. So I'll just sit here with the hood open untill the engine cools down. Wish me luck!!!

Hope it started eventually!
Gotta pick some more lemons and limes today. One of the ladies on my walk route wants some, so I will drop them off when I take the dogs past.

Its so much easier to live in winter. I can just go out and pick fruit without it killing me dead! Its such a relief, but far too short-lived πŸ™

My routine stalled after my dads visit. He really throws me outta whack. I have been extremely mentally unwell, so Im so relieved I dont see a therapist who'd lock me up! Cos now I feel better and am getting back to my daily ways. Its good to have these tv stories to escape to until I get back on track. Shield has been a godsend!
