If Buffyverse Vampires Had Pets

So uh...I had a thought.

If the Buffyverse vampires all decided to get pets, what kind of pet do you think each one would have? Do you think they would stick to domestics, or would Angel totally be into taratulas?

Personally, I'm a huge animal lover, so even if I was all bloody-sucky, I would probably have a cat or something 😆.

I vaguely remember the bird, but I don't remember the puppy. When I think of Dru with a puppy, though...

I think she gave it to Spike to eat when he was in the wheelchair.

Yep, but he wasn't having any of it. He didn't like being fed.

It didn't end well for the bird or the one before it. Drusilla got the puppy for a wheelchair bound Spike to eat but he refused because he didn't want to be fed "like a child" so the puppy stayed around for the episode "Passion". Dru took it to the shop with her and she was holding it when Giles set fire to the table. Presumably she let it go and it ran off because when Spike grabs her arm to stop her intervening in the fight between Angelus and Giles, the puppy is nowhere to be found.

I think the danger is that the pets will be seen as just another food source for the vampires. But if they did have pets, Spike would definitely have a dog and it'd be a spaniel or a labrador cross with an English bull terrier. Darla would have a Siamese cat, something slinky. Dru would have a parrot, because she obviously likes birds, but a parrot could be trained to say 'feed me, feed me' so it doesn't starve. Angel might have an indoor rabbit, something soft and fluffy, but it hides a lot and chews your cables.
