I was wondering how different Willow's life would have been if she didn't discover magic. Here are my questions to you:

What path do you think she would have followed?
Would she still find a way to feel cooler and less nerdy?
Would she still meet Tara?
Would she still be attracted to power?
What would be her use in the scoobie gang?

What path do you think she would have followed?

She would have been a computer hacker

Would she still find a way to feel cooler and less nerdy?

I don't think she ever DID feel cooler and less nerdy.

Would she still meet Tara?

She would meet a version of Tara, but why would it be Tara? She might have even been straight.

Would she still be attracted to power?

Of course, she always was.

What would be her use in the scoobie gang?

Pretty much the same as it was before but more of it. She could have been a female Warren.

I was wondering how different Willow's life would have been if she didn't discover magic. Here are my questions to you:

What path do you think she would have followed?

She was headed for computer programming and the fact that a meeting was arranged between Willow, Oz and a guy who came in from Redmond (where Microsoft is based) indicated that she was seen as a major software talent even when she was in high school. She would have gone into STEM subjects and not been in Prof Walsh's class. She had no qualms about hacking into what should be considered private data, so she could have been an analyst for the CIA or NSA where this would be normal. She could have trained in cryptography to develop secure codes.

Would she still find a way to feel cooler and less nerdy?

She was always going to be nerdy but she would have surrounded herself with other nerds where she could rise up the nerd hierarchy. She could have been a star game designer in the same sense that Stan Lee is a star in the comics world.

Would she still meet Tara?

Maybe, but there is no indication that Tara would be in any STEM courses, so they may not have crossed paths.

Would she still be attracted to power?

Hell yes! This is something that had always been missing in her life. In Bargaining Part 1 she was the leader of the scoobies directing them telepathically where to go to intercept vampires. We meet her mother in "Gingerbread" who dismisses he entirely and Willow would like to have her kind of power to control people while ignoring them.

What would be her use in the scoobie gang?

Research, surveillance, planning, robotics and any kind of weapons development.

I just had an image of the Scoobies and even Buffy with comm gear while Willow used a network of sensors (even drones?) complete with the ability to read body heat (and thus detect vampires)...and who knows what she could've done with tech salvaged from the Initiative.

She could even, say, create a flying drone with a wood stake. That might sound silly at first glance, but is it really more silly to imagine Willow altering a toy plane to have a pencil (which have been shown to kill vampires) "stake" and microcam (perhaps with IR, or thermal reading) that Willow controls (and sees through) remotely than freeze rays, invisibility by scifi, and Buffybots?

Probably research and computer hacking. Maybe she would learn more practical, outdoorsy skills.

Ha! Probably not 😛

Probably. They took some of the same classes.

No. Willow was never attracted to power.

What would be her use in the scoobie gang?

It is important to remember that Willow's magic skills came as a result of hard work, big risks and by going against Giles. Xander complained he had any powers, but Willow didn't get hers for free. Xander could have worked to keep his army training intact if he had wanted to.

Let's be honest, Willow would probably meet Warren in a technology class and start dating him and they'd be the reckless power hungry quick fix nerdy genius Bonnie & Clyde of Sunnydale.

Instead of The Trio it'd be the Duo.
