Is it just me who hated early season Faith?

Like god I couldn't understand her stans. Buffy gave her so many chances to be good, and it was sad to watch her behavior honestly. Now while I see what they were going for with the troubled-teen concept, they should've explored her and the Mayor's relationship more. Her character could've been executed way better in my opinion, because by the end of it I found myself liking the mayor more than her. Now I'm on season 7, and I find her way more likable but she still kicked Buffy out so...

(btw I have not watched Angel, no spoilers please)

Well, the conclusion to her Story in Season 4 was shown on Angel, you should probably watch that. The episode is called "Five By Five" and the episode immediately after that.

Yeah, for a girl who Buffy found crying while Lord Kastistos was threating to rip her in half, Faith gets really cocky, really quickly. Plus, her whole motivation for turning evil was "Wesley was mean to me." I love Season 3, but Faith's motivations are ridiculous.

Exactly, I just wanted her dead at times and would much rather see a storyline with Kendra. Kendra also disliked Buffy and I think was a little bit jealous of her but it was done much better (excluding her death).

Hm, I can see this viewpoint. I personally love Faith. I think she’s super fun to watch on screen, and I find her moral complexities interesting. I kind of read her as what Buffy could have been if she had no support, no help, no friends. It’s interesting to think about how people are built by their experiences. But yeah, she isn’t a good person most of the time. I personally think her struggles are understandable, but I may be biased. She would have been more sympathetic if we got to know more of her backstory before she comes to Sunnydale. I have my own ideas of what that was like, but we don’t really see it on screen. But I definitely agree that I wish Kendra had stuck around. Ideally, we would have gotten to see all three slayers interact, but if it came down to a choice between Faith or Kendra… I don’t know. I might have to pick Kendra. It was frankly a racist decision on the writers' part to kill her off like they did.
Also yeah, the mayor is a super fun villain :]
