The most heartbreaking character death?

And
After she turned dark, the first thing she chose to do was to go to the hospital saving Buffy. Dark Willow, like normal Willow, is a good person at heart.

And she didn't kill Warren without telling him what happened & making him confess that he killed his ex -girlfriend because she was going to the
police on him.

I do think Willow's reasoning was dampened due to the shock and grief. The dark magic she sucked up added to this condition. That doesn't mean she was evil or stopped to care about Buffy. Call it temporary insanity. After she shed Warren's blood she didn't felt the satisfaction she expected or needed, so she went after Andrew and Jonathan. Since they weren't responsible for Tara's death, you could say she wasn't in her right mind anymore.

After she drained Rack she lost her mind completely. The wanting to destroy the world thing is partly Giles' fault. He intended for her to suck up his borrowed white magic. A risky strategy which had backfired if it weren't for Xander. Willow was absolutely not sane anymore. Unfit to plead is the law-term if I'm not wrong?

If there had been a trial which is competent, it would have declared her not criminal responsible due to the circumstances. She'd been most likely put into preventive custody with much, much counseling until she isn't a danger for society anymore. In addition, she's found guilty of gross negligence with assault and battery (Tara & Dawn) as result for her flippancy with magic, taking mitigating circumstances (addiction) into account. Probably a probation.😀

Somebody firm in law here? Is that somewhat accurate? To my defense, I rely on my amateur knowledge in German law here.😀

And I just realized that I've got completely off-topic here. Somebody interested in a new thread about questionable deeds of all characters if the supernatural had been a part in the human system of justice?

On-topic: A further honorable mention of heartbreaking deaths is the deactivation/destruction of April and Buffybot. They were quite lovely IMO and their respective ends were dolefully put on screen.

I didn't even consider April and the Buffybot, but you're right, their deaths were actually quite well-done. I was pretty sad during both of them. Who knew you could feel so sad for robots? 😛

Me watching Terminator 2 since childhood would like a word with you. 😛 (I can think of more, but I shall hold back in case they're spoilers for folk.)

Cordelia.
A truly evolved character- from shallow rich-girl to champion- who was targeted by the PtB and royally screwed over (by Joss!).
Def the most sad because it was so undeserved.

Second place goes to Tara, but at least it was fast and relatively painless.

I agree with you on Cordelia. Joss gave her back to us & then said " Just Kidding " And killed her off.

And Tara might died quick but the people around her really suffered.
Ah god so many heartbreaks!

Angel - why oh why did he have to revert back to Angel when it was too late. I cried so much for both of them! The first Buffy death that really made hyperventilate with tears!

Joyce - SMG is amazing because my heart genuinely breaks for her.

Jenny - shocking and upsetting. Again - had to be right when her and Giles were going to make up. Damn you Joss.

Fred - tried to hold back the tears this time - it didn't work.

Cordelia - You're welcome. The most unfair death. More so than Tara in my opinion.

I thought both of them were sad . April died still looking for her love & sweet Buffybot died saving the Scobies .

Just like Buffy would have done .😀 Off topic does anyone think they would have made a great couple since they were both Bots ?

Think they would have made a great couple. What would their ship name be? Bufrilbots? Thats terrible 😱 Apuffy? Sorry!

'The Body' really ripped me up. The lack of music and cuts was merciless but I did weep buckets over Tara's death in 'Seeing Red'
Spike's death was sad as well but even though I love his character, it didn't hit me as hard as other deaths for some reason. The list of character deaths I cried over goes on and on...

But Buffril does sound better than the other names 😀
