I wish that the 11th Doctor had taken Amelia with him instead of Amy at the start of season 5. I think it would be interesting to explore the doctor's dynamic with a child companion as i think we've covered a lot with women as companions as friends and lovers. Not sure if this is unpopular or just not said much 😁

Joseph is a rather underrated character in the Christmas story. He finds out his wife is pregnant with the baby of another and yet he stands by her and raises the child as his own (assuming that Mary did actually tell him, that conversation is often glossed over).

Given the amount of peril the companions are often in, it would make the Doctor look bad if he frequently subjects a child to that. Plus the whole "Child leaves with a strange man she's just met who promises to show her wonderful things if she goes with him" gives a very iffy vibe.

Athene, be careful if women are seen as capable sex offenders, certain churches might welcome them as priests. And given these times where sexual orientation of people cab seem so confusing, it might confusing if your mummy is a Father?

I see women as dangerous as men, and also more prone to violence than many give women credit for, just as men can be just as manipulative, gossipy, and passive aggressive (more so than plenty of women). I think women are as obsessed with sex as men and men as obsessed with romance as women, but that neither are as obsessed as they're portrayed to be, generally speaking, though both feel they have appearances to live up to, and social factors tend to inhibit or exacerbate certain traits, but remove that factor and the effect can instantly disappear (and sometimes even when present can't stop or inflame it).

Just to be clear, I do think this is an unpopular opinion (and taking this thread title at face value). And again, the above is generally speaking with plenty of exceptions (some way too obsessed, and some who couldn't care less one way or the other and aren't afraid to show it, not all are violent and not all are passive aggressive gossips, etc). And though I'm cynical I'm not paranoid. Perhaps it's why I tend to give the characters (like Xander and Cordelia) in Buffy a bit more of a break than many do.

I hate 10 episode seasons. 9, 12 or 20+ are much better. 10 is a strange shaped arc and leaves me unsatisfied. At least with 9, it keeps the intensity and you can watch 3 eps a night, or even fit it in one looong binge. 12 gives a little more room, more like a proper season. 10 just lacks and ends on an anticlimax cos it doesn't fit my watching habits.

if it doesn't fit with your viewing habits get another TV then you can watch a 20 episode season, 10 episodes on each TV.

I don't like it when an entire season is released all at once, like what has become the norm on different streaming services. It removes the tension of waiting for the next episode and stops people from talking about it 'around the watercooler' the way they used to.

I'm not a fan of Back To The Future, I'm gonna try to rewatch it on Netflix but the last time I watched it I was kind of bored in the middle of the movies. I don't seem to get into it.

Don't you just love watching the old TV shows over and over again, picking up on the mistakes in the script that shows the FBI to be a bit thick. As in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. That FBI agent who ignores that the Terminator is a robot to prefer to believe he is a demon. Even when he has the facts he is still to stupid to believe what is..

I dislike Ferris Bueler both the film and the character and have far more sympathy for Cameron and his sister Jean.

I like Spiderman 3 (2007), it was better than both of the Andrew Garfield movies.

Tom Cruise was amazing as Lestat in Interview with a Vampire and I wish they would've made a Vampire Lestat movie right after that one, one focused more on how he was turned and the pre-Louis days. That way you can keep Queen of the damned as well which isn't as bad as people sometimes say it is. The Tom Cruise look for Lestat would work so well for a deep dive into his background.

I didn't really like Harry Potter, I watched all of the movies and was old enough to see the later ones in the theatre, I can safely say that I don't care for the franchise.
