I voted Slayer. I think the Watcher Council's history puts me off being a Watcher.

Slayer. I'd rather die than watch those I'm responsible for die.

Besides, Watchers have to put up with the WC's BS right along with the Slayer anyway, and a Slayer isn't prevented from learning supernatural lore and is even encouraged (the latter part is the only thing that would tempt me to be a Watcher, if the Slayer wasn't allowed).

I'm seeing too many die of old age. It's not pretty, even when they're optimistic. I marvel that I survived my youth, but lately I wonder if that luck was of the good or bad kind. I'll feel lucky if I go out like Joyce (minus the temporary insanity and surgery). I wish I could recall that old Greek saying about how the luckiest are those the gods give a quick, painless death in youth (not sure if that's teens or 20s).

I'd rather be a Slayer, but it was a hard decision, I'd be risking my own life, and when I save the entire world, no one will ever know, that would really suck! If I was a Watcher, I could stay at home and read books, also, I could be the boss of the Slayer, which would be sick. The WC would be really annoying though, but a Slayer has to put up with it's BS too. And, Buffy did say she quit the Council on the last episode of season 3, so why can't I do the same thing she did? A watcher wouldn't be in that much danger, well, not as much as the Slayer would be in. If I was a watcher, I wouldn't really feel so "special" because there are a lot of watchers, while if I was a Slayer, I would feel super special, I would've been picked out of all the other girls in the world, which, if you ask me, is super awesome.

Well, being a tad ancient, male, & British.....I think my role in the hierarchy of the Council would be rather evident and it would be somewhat churlish on my part to pretend otherwise...... 😁

That's a vote for 'Watcher' in case you wondered... 😏

And of course if a certain Bostonian Slayer was looking for a new Watcher....... ?

Boy. Have to be Watcher. I am assume the council does a lot more than feminist straw man/ bully the slayer.

I'd rather be a slayer, though I'd probably be better suited for watcher life. Slayers are better able to protect themselves and others, which is why I chose that role, but I've already been a mentor many times over, and I'm pretty good at it. In fact, I sympathize with Giles's altered persona as a watcher. He's much more of a rebel than he leads on, but for the sake of dealing with a young flighty slayer, he keeps his own actions restrained. I also have found with hyperactive charges disinterested in their education that keeping yourself calm and restrained helps a lot!

Since I am a male and don't really want to change that, I would only be qualified to be a watcher. But I would want to be a watcher under the new regime set up by Buffy, not the one that used the Cruciamentum as a means of keeping slayers under the thumb of the original Watchers' Council. All it takes for a slayer to die is to have a bad day or for a vamp to have a good day and this is not the kind of uncertainty I would seek out. But the life of a watcher with research and mentoring is much more to my liking.

I voted Watcher. I'm good at researching, and would prefer that to fighting. I think I'd be better as one of those Watchers who work for the Council than training a Slayer, though.

why working for Council instead with a Slayer?
@r2dh2 I just think I'd be better at the research aspect than coaching a Slayer athletically, and I don't think I'd be much good at mentoring a teen. Though it does mean I'd be blown up eventually....

The reckless part of me wants to choose Slayer but... Knowing myself, I know I'd end up being a Watcher, because I'm much more of a knowledge seeker and a thinker than an action-oriented person.

I'm already British, so I have the accent down, but stuffy? I vote Slayer! 😎

Slayer. I would prefer to be there in the action rather than sit on the sidelines and hope for the best.

Slayer. I'd probably make a better Watcher, but lately I'd rather go down fighting.

Slayer. I have a Hero, main Character fantasy. Watchers are good for intel about demon and vampire history. But just like Giles and Wesley, they are practically useless in action. Buffy needed a watcher for the first 2 seasons or so but after that there was really no point. Willow and the Internet kinda replaced thier importance

Being Slayer is hard. And You can die in a young age.

I guess being watcher is a safer and better Option.I voted Watcher
