How did you feel about the conclusion to Eleanora's kidnapping?
I thought it was well-done. I was glad that we got just enough details to imagine how terrible it was without the blow-by-blow. I really liked the note from Hessika and how she included an article so that Eleanora would have more information about what happened without having to ask anyone. (I don't know why I like Hessika so much, I just do.)
Interesting Point, I was actually disappointed in the brevity. It felt like the Mitchell scene went on forever, then it was like one sentence of "woops someone tried to drown you" not interesting *skip!* aaand we're at the hospital. It felt oddly planned out for me. But maybe it's cause I'd rather have had a shorter Mitchell scene.
Do you think Mimi was a Dream Keeper? I got the impression that maybe she had seen the future and that's why she was so afraid about their gifts.
Good question, it would be interesting if she was! It would make sense if it was somewhat hereditary. Also interesting because it shows that not everyone is open to that kind of gift.
Do you think Lyse and Weir have a good connection?
The romance is the weakest part of the book, I think. It's kind of keeping us from getting to know Lyse very well, or maybe that's just me. But Lyse and Weir are less interesting than the other characters, though I like Weir now that I know Lizbeth's story.
I agree. I kind of wish they would have saved the romance for later in the series. I feel like if there was a focus on Weir being Lizbeth's brother and Lyse getting close to him through Lizbeth or caring for her, it might've been more organic. Now it just feels a bit odd and forced for me.
How do you feel about Daniela now that we know about more about her and her mother? Was the end of her chapter interesting?
I liked Daniela's chapter a lot -- it made the whole story more interesting. I feel like we're finally starting to get into the plot! I liked that Arrabelle's suspicions of her were right but for the wrong reasons. I liked her cats and her paintings, which may or may not be terrible. And the ending was creepy!
I agree, but I have to admit that it really annoying me that the person who doesn't want to touch anyone else would go to a hot nightclub and be able to
not touch anyone. If there's enough space to move freely and without obstruction it's not a very hot nightclub

What do you think about the flood imagery and the man riding it? Do we know this man do you think?
The Flood doesn't really seem that distinctive. But I think the man must be the same guy who tried to kill Daniela, since there was the whole bit about how he was missing a soul. Is he maybe Eleanora's son?
How is the plot? Do you feel that there is one? Does it engage you? Does it feel scattered? What do you think will happen next?
I haven't really felt like there was much of a plot until this week's section. It's mostly just been about getting to know the characters, though I was getting enough intriguing details and hints of more to come that I haven't gotten bored with it much. I'm not sure what will happen next, except that Lyse will probably be involved in saving Lizbeth somehow. Eleanora will probably die at the end, and another member of the coven may be killed along the way as well. Eleanora's twins will come into play somehow.
I've been a bit annoyed because I have felt a lack of plot so far. It feels like there's a lot of drawing things out, stalling conversations, and just in general pace issue where it's like "oh things will happen, I promise, soon! Soon something will happen! Soon!" but nothing's really been happening except for a lot of talk and a weird initation and that all feels like set up. So I feel like the book is having trouble "taking off" and keeping me engaged. I'm also not a fan of vague imagery like the Flood because it's more telling than showing. I want something terrible to happen to believe it. Basically - in Buffy terms - more Angelus, less the First. It's like, I get it, evil is coming, do we have to talk about it all day?

I concur with your predictions. It feels like the point of Eleanora's flashbacks was those twins, so they must come into play somehow. I just hope it'll be a good pay-off.
