Hi all,

So in Orpheus Angelus planned to turn Faith into a vampire. Do you think that would have been interesting as a BB for S4? Would Faith be an interesting vampire?

Let's discuss!

In the novels, Slaypires are different from other vampires, and are prone to slaying themselves. I can't recall it that well but a victim of the Cruciatum was turned, but even as a vampire I believe she willfully destroyed her sire and herself. I believe I read of one Slaypire in the comics that stuck around, but I think even she was different from other vampires (but not good).

That said...if the show was (don't laugh) consistent then Faith would show that she was relieved to be free of all that guilt. It wouldn't stop people from saying the vampires were still who they were and not particularly evil, though.

Was Angelus trying to turn Faith? As a big bad for season 4 I'm not sure it would have worked. They still had to deal with Jasmine. Now if they didn't set up the Jasmine stuff with Cordy from the beginning and brought Faith in earlier then maybe it could have worked. Have a slayer be the big bad in a vampire show. It would have been interesting but i don't know if I'd want that for Faiths character. I like they she worked out.

I think Faith gone bad in BtVS was far more interesting as a big bad than say a a vampire slayer Faith.
It was interesting to see how that darkness within her from her being the Slayer turned her to the dark side. It was more complex than turning her into a soulless vampire that has no moral compass.
Faith had a soul and still got overtaken by darkness. Then she had to redeem herself.
Vampire Faith would be boring in comparison to what we had already seen.

Yes while they were fighting she said to Angelus I'm not like you and he replied But you will be and bit her. That would be an Angelus thing to do to turn a vampire slayer into a vampire.
That's a good catch! I missed that. I wouldn't put it past Angelus to turn Faith. Maybe he remembers when Faith tried to free Angelus in Enemies and he liked the idea of them teaming up or something. I still wouldn't have wanted that for Faith so I'm glad he didn't turn her.
