Buffy and Charmed crossover!

Has anyone ever thought about how cool it would be if Buffy and Charmed had a crossover? They both aired at the same time and both were also very popular. If they ever did have a crossover, how do you see the episode playing out? Who do you think the Buffy characters and the Charmed characters will get along with the most?

I personally think it would be an episode with both the Charmed ones and Buffy working together to defeat a demon that crossed between both universes, enabling the witches in meeting the slayer in Buffy’s world.
I also see Buffy getting along more with Phoebe. It would also be interesting to see both Spike and Cole fight evil together along with the girl they love, meaning the timeline for my episode would be around Charmed season 4 and Buffy season 6.
 
Did they ever have vampires on charmed? Maybe they summon the vampire expert and Buffy shows up 😀
 
Buffy and Prue definitely would've been besties...and Xander would've totally lusted after Phoebe. Piper and Willow would've shared notes on spells and baking cookies. Angelus and Evil!Cole would hang out, swap stories, and get along well.

Yes they did and even Paige turned into one! And one time Phoebe even did a Buffy reference!

Oh I love this! I never thought of Willow and Piper baking cookies together… that’s a good one 🤭

I would also looove to see Angelus and Evil Cole be villains together to try and make their lovers’ lives a living hell!
 
I think one of the problems with Charmed referencing Buffy is that it is early seasons 1-2 before they know any lore themselves (meaning they're unlikely to know about Slayers should they exist in the verse), indicating that Buffy exists as a tv-show in the Charmed-verse. I would say it'd be tricky to retcon, but then, it's Charmed so probably not.

But, back in my fanfic days I did write a couple of Buffy/Charmed crossovers. The main problem was that one ended up with so many bloody characters, it was difficult to give them all meaningful stuff to do! So I feel like an actual crossover would have had to have only like Buffy and Willow dropping by, or it would have to be a two-parter. I would probably have put a crossover in Charmed season 3, around Buffy season 5-ish, before things get too heavy.
 
I've thought about this way too much as a huge fan of both!

I want to write a fan fic where Prue helps Willow deal with Tara's death (having had experience in that department herself). 💖

I do agree with you there! It did seem like Buffy was just a TV show in Charmed. It would have been cool if we got to see both universes be one universe lol

oh, I would have loved to read that! In my case, I would probably want Buffy and Phoebe talk about their boyfriends being good one minute then turning evil the next lol
 
Been there thought that. And wrote at least one in my time. I prefer the idea of Angel and Cole discussing the concepts of trying to be good while tethered with a soul (something Spike can't identify with until season seven) while Phoebe and Buffy get to bond over the trials having demon romances. Willow could go anywhere since they're all witches. And I can see Giles and Prue (so season three or before) getting along well.

Eh, I don't know if the type of girl that Joss casts can really wear a push up bra.

Okay, 90s crossover rules says the producers can't afford a full team up crossover outside a pilot episode. Buffy showing up on Charmed makes the most sense, as it's unlikely Willow could add anything magic wise, but Buffy can always take a beating the sisters can't.

Oh I never thought about shipping two characters from both shows, and I can definitely see Piper and Angel for some reason lol

Nah, I don't buy it. Obviously, the First has a great PR team. 😅

Here's my take on it: since the Source IS the source of all evil, obviously he created the First before anything else. Hence the name, "The First."
 
I don't want to sound contemptuous or anything but I think Charmed is beneath BtVS. The writing in BtVS is just miles better and I don't want it to be associated with a show like Charmed in any way. Just my opinion.

Oh wow! I didn’t even think of that! Now that is a plot I would LOVE to see.

I think the Source would win though… what can the First Evil even do than have minions do it’s dirty work? They are not touchable right?

Like you said, Nah I don't buy that. The first can't die. The source (though it took many tries) did die.
