Buffy and Charmed crossover!

Like you said, Nah I don't buy that. The first can't die. The source (though it took many tries) did die.
But doesn’t the source come back with a new body? For example, the “original” source died but then Cole became the next source.

I don't want to sound contemptuous or anything but I think Charmed is beneath BtVS. The writing in BtVS is just miles better and I don't want it to be associated with a show like Charmed in any way. Just my opinion.
This is the way.

Charmed reads like it was written by a 12 year old.

DC comics had a problem a few decades ago when they realized they had like five different characters claiming to be the devil, including one who claimed to an advanced alien who only inspired the myth of the devil. Naturally, Sandman's Lucifer became the authentic article, whereas everyone else became part of Hell's peerage, a devil, but not the devil. Fine, Hell having multiple factions and warlords makes for horrible theology, but fantastic mythology. So, either avatars of the same malefactor, or rival hell lords.

The First reminds me of Lo Pan from Big Trouble in Little China where Lo Pan must marry and sacrifice a green-eyed girl in order to achieve corporeal form other than that of an old man. The First can only become corporeal when the balance between the slayer and the forces of evil shift in the latter's direction. But Lo Pan was killed by a knife thrown through his forehead and the Source was killed also. There is no record of the First being killed - he only had his plans thwarted and he was forced to remain a spirit when the Turok Han were defeated.

And Cole becomes the Source because he agrees to take on the source ”power” right?

Meaning the real Source is the Source-power, not the body it resides in. Almost as though the First would possess people?

But after Cole is defeated we never see the Source again except one episode in season eight and he was vanquished as easily again in just that one episode.

Yes. So if you think about it that way, “The Source” is pretty similar as The First then. It’s the power and not the body.

So this goes back to what we said about the source actually being the power and not the body. Once “defeated” it jumps to a new host. Oh and maybe it gets weaker and weaker the more it is defeated and has to move to a new body. This is a theory btw.

Lots of fanfiction has the Charmed Ones as back up's in case Angel loses his soul.

I don't believe the Source is "dead." He was vanquished, yes, but that might mean his essence was merely dispersed. There's a good chance that he's lurking around the Hellmouth in Ohio with the First. Waiting. Plotting. The First was always a better strategist than the Source, who tended to be too impulsive.

That’s a really good fanfiction that I would looove to read lol

The source we knew was impulsive, but I don't know if that was really the source or some part of the demon that took the power, much like how Cole taking the power didn't erase his feelings for Phoebe

The "original" Source was far too obsessed with killing the Charmed Ones. I think it distracted him to the point of making several impulsive decisions...his anger made him careless as well. He also underestimated the sisters many times.

As for the Cole version of the Source, I definitely believe he was capable of killing them. He was smart, ruthless, and cunning. If he hadn't been half human AND loved Phoebe, the Charmed Ones would've been history.

Agreed which is why I think the source's power actually merged with the demon. I bet the original source was just as impulsive and obsessive before killing his predecessor

And maybe the Source's power was a bit diminished when he assumed a somewhat human form. Kind of like Illyria, whose true essence couldn't be contained in Fred's body...?
