Bynums Book. Willows books of witchcraft

Hi guys, i was wondering if i could get some help with the buffy verse. I know that they pretty made up their entire bad guy line up save werewolves and obviously vampires, but they mention a book, bynums history of witchcraft, and it too is fictional, but i was wondering if anyone knew if there was more to that book besides its namesake.

I have done all the internet research possible. Thats why i came here, the title just feels to random to be a complete farce.

It's not random. It's based (loosely) on some of Caroline Walker Bynum's writings. It's an 'in-show' wink and nod to her.
