Hi all!

So i didn't read the comics but I know that both Faith and Buffy are still alive. I was wondering who do you think will survive the longest? Do you think Buffy will be the ever-alive slayer and just keep coming back from the dead? Or do you think Faith will break the record as the slayer who outlived them all?

Let's discuss!

I think they'll both live until the comics are over. They've come and gone with the Buffy dying thing, and Faith seems to have a lot more stories to tell.

II agree, Joss isn't going to kill off either of the Chosen Two permanently, but, as far as personalities go, I think that Faith, who has always been seen as the impetuous one, the "jump in punching and kicking without a whole lot of thought as to how she's gonna get back out if things go wrong" girl, would be the one most likely of the two to bite the bullet. By now, Buffy has been around long enough to appreciate strategic withdrawal when it becomes necessary, and she relies more on strategy than she does brute force.

They're both going to live until old age, at which point they'd have stopped slaying (hopefully) so it'll be their immune systems that we have to judge.

I'm the opposite of WA, Faith may be impetuous but Buffy's the one most likely to get herself killed by doing something sudden and heroic, like taking the bullet for someone else. So, I'm gonna go with Buffy dying first.

But then Willow will just bring her back.......again! She's got a multi access pass for the Pearly Gates, but I think it's one strike & out for poor Faith........

But that means that Willow has to outlive them too. And that it has to be a supernatural death.

Haha, this topic feels really morbid the more I think about it.

Maybe they can all hold hands, make friends, and die old and happy in their respective (or joint) beds at the same moment?

There must be a fanfic along those lines out there somewhere 😀

Willow could use magic to slow/stop the ageing process......so if that's the case they could all be around for ages yet 😉

That's interesting...the chosen two forever young and on the mission...ok now that seems like hell though.

It's hard for me to choose cause you guys have made good points. I would have voted for Buffy at first but she did pretty fast in her first years. Do you think Faith would have died from Kakistos if Buffy wasn't around to help her out?

I like that Idea . Buffy & Faith both in their 60's dying in their joint bed at the same time so they wont have to leave each other . * Sniff *
That sound so sweet 😎

As of S10? I'd say Faith stays alive, Buffy has done a number of dumb things that made no tactical sense.
Faith seems to have calmed a bit of her recklessness through experience, plus she has more self-reliance than Buffy, she knows what she's cabable of and doesn't rely on others to make up for her mistakes.

So what you saying is Faith grown up & Buffy hasn't . I think that Buffy has gotten better too even though it doesnts look like it .

Well, I think self-reliance is only part of maturity. And whilst I agree that Buffy is mature, she's certainly regressed a lot in the comics. Faith is the more level-headed, self-reliant slayer, as of S10.
I can't speak as to S11 because I haven't read it, but a friend might be lending it to me soon.

Faith has become the voice of reason in the 'verse. It's strange. But I kinda like it. She has really grown into a great character. I never thought I would like her so much but she translates so well on paper.

Also, smallish spoiler for s11 - I guess (if you have been living under a rock):

But Faith is totally me in this panel and I love that she is looking right out at the reader and not at Willow. It feels super meta:

I like the idea that they be old & grey arguing about who was better while they wait for their kids & grandkids to show up.
This would be great! Unfortunately I did not think that's not gonna happen. It would be interesting if the comics ended with Buffy dead and Faith alive. I don't think that will happen though. It seems that Buffy' friends and family won't let her die. Whereas if Faith died I don't think anyone wound try to bring her back. Maybe Angel. But I don't think either of them need to die.
