Make a Movie

Hmm, that's a challenge. I would probably combined seasons 1-3 into a movie, 4-5 into the second and 6-7 for the third.
I would keep The Master as a villain because he has ties to Angelus, but cut most of season 1, and condense season 2 and 3, and probably move the Buffy love story and Becoming to the end of the movie, switching it with the Mayor and Faith storyline. Then resurrecting Angel at the beginning of the second movie, shortening the season 4 plot and ending with season 5. Then resurrecting Buffy in the third movie like season 6 but skipping over some of the terribleness and instead expanding on the potential (no pun intended) of season 7, ending the same way as Chosen.

I would skip Willow and Xander's affair, as well as Xander and Anya's relationship. I would also skip Adam and the Initiative storyline. I would set up Dark Willow in the second movie, so that she could be redeemed in the last movie, keeping the Xander's "yellow crayon speech". I would also reduce the number of useless potentials in season 7.

That's a really good question. Season's 1, 2 and 3, the high school years, I'd keep a lot of the arcs but get rid of some of the motw - anything with fish or eggs is out. I'd also cut down the Buffy/Angel interactions of season 3 because I thought they didn't lead anywhere, plus I'd tighten up their relationship scenes throughout the seasons. The focus would be on Buffy and the scoobies.

Season 4 is a transitional season and I'd keep it pretty much as is. Seasons 5, 6 and 7 would be my third film. I'd tighten up season 5, and focus it down to Buffy, Dawn and Joyce. Season 6 would be focused on Buffy and Spike, and Buffy dealing with her depression. Season 7 would be about Buffy and the Slayers, with a little bit of the scoobies and Spike, but the focus would be on Buffy, the Potenitals, Nikki and the first Slayer.

Might be super obvious way of doing it, but I'd probably go with seasons 1 & 2 as first film. Seasons 3 & 4 as second. Then wrap things up with seasons 5 & 6. Most of season 7 would wind up on the cutting room floor where it belongs. 😉 However, I wasn't originally thinking of doing it this way. If you think about it, seasons 2 & 3 could really be movies all by themselves, but then you'd need more than 3 films, or third would be a white hot mess.

Makes sense to add bit of 1st season's set up to Angelus' storyline. While I get why season 4 is a transitional one, but if you think about it, high school and college can both be times of personal growth and exploration. Which is a good chunk of both season's personal story lines. Agree with @Priceless losing Angel in third season. Angel should've stayed gone after season 2, or used sparingly.

As for final film, I'd say that most of the Glory story line would remain the same, but I'd either edit out Dawn, or change that narrative somehow. I'd have limited Trio, just long enough to bring back Vamp Willow, and de-chipped Spike as Big Bads. If I must include The First, I'd make them almost a smaller threat, but still bring in some of the potentials. I'd also not kill Tara, simply wound her. Just enough to get a mini reign of Dark Willow. I'd also overlap the 3 story lines. But still bit of in order of seasons. So not as to have them too jumbled together. And as an added bonus you get not just one, or two, but three Willows! Like shut up and take my money! 😀

Some of these (in thread) could make for some interesting fanfiction, if done well. Just saying. 😳

None of the seasons really adapt well to a film, I would probably go the DBZ method where some big moment gets replicated or recreated, but forgo the plot. Like, make a movie version of Hush, or Surprise, Innocence and Becoming, or Graduation Day. Something where a budget might come in handy.
