Hi all,

I have noticed that Sarah is rarely the first person menton when we do a best actor/actress list on this show. However, I think it is fare to say that she did carry beautifully the Buffy show on her shoulders and showed us that she was an amazing actress who can really play anything! In honor of that, I would like us to list the best acting moments of Sarah either on Buffy or Angel. Here are some of mine:

- When she played an angry/devasted Buffy In Prophecy girl who learn she was going to die at 16 years old!

When she played Faith in Buffy's body and was soooooooo believable!!!

What are yours?

I agree with the ones mentioned so far, but I will add a few more.

- Her singing, dancing, and incredible acting in Once More with Feeling

- When she was beaten badly but still have the most inspiring speech in Bring on the Night

- Her last moment of I Will Remember You, really making us feel what Buffy was feeling

- Every single line of The Body

okay mine season 1 witch still makes me laugh the body believe she should have won and award for that it was her best performance and family when she stands up to mr McKay still my favourite buffy moment, and passions when she beats up Giles because she says I can do this alone. and finally tabula rasa joan when she says to spike that is so lame about having a soul.

Fool for Buffy
Fool for Buffy
Agree on all!

The passion one is heartbreaking and beautifully acted I agree!
Surprisingly the first time sher really impressed me was early on in S1 'Nightmares' where he Dad made her cry. I hated him SO MUCH at the end of that episode because of how he made her feel.

'Becoming'. The whole scene where she realizes what's happening, makes the choice, goes through with it, and then completely crumples emotionally as it hits home. The whole range of emotions is there with no dialogue and its truly amazing. *gets choked up*

Another vote for her performance in 'The Body'; it was truly award winning because she holds the screen, alone, without any ambient sound or much in the way of dialogue for a lot of the start of the episode. Compelling.

Buffy-as-Faith is another for me; so may good scenes in one episode.

Not just her dramatic scenes but the lady has some beautiful comic timing, from S1 onward.

As the Buffybot! I love her as the Buffybot playing opposite Buffy and being all peppy. 'Say, you look just like me. We're very pretty!'

Ever dam episode of Buffy , Sarah had probably 4 times the amount of anybody on Buffy each episode ,the fight scenes , until S6&7 the humour, emotional scenes , facial expressions, every line everything....but as someone has already said why no award for the Body....can you think of anything more superbly done ....I can't

So true about the fighting. Sarah really worked hard and she was very commited as she wanted to do as many as Joss let her!

On Angel she was also phenomenal in I will remember you! David Boreanaz got so caught up in her emotion that he evens says Sarah instead of Buffy to console her! That's acting!

I'm going to say her scene from Anne where she's asked her name and she replies "I'm Buffy, the vampire slayer, and you are?"

Buffy spent all episode trying to run from her identity as the slayer and be someone else, there's no spark in her eyes. As soon as she re-embraces her identity as the slayer, her eyes light up.

After coming back from the dead in “Prophecy Girl”:

“I may be dead, but I’m still pretty, which is more than I can say for you.”

And always as the Buffybot, but specifically here when she fools us all into believing she is actually Buffy in “The Gift”!!
“The slayer’s a robot. Did anybody know the slayer was a robot?”

The buffy bot , forgot this bloody brilliant and I knew it was Buffy when she entered Spike Crib when Glory had beaten him, her acting slightly different , Sarah acting in things away from horror Cruel intentions , Southern tales, Veronika decides to die, Ringer and of course humor in The crazy ones! shows she has a huge range , unfortunately never much Lady luck
Sarah carried Buffy , she is in almost every scene....I believe if not for Sarah Buffy would have run for about as long as most of Whedon's tv works and we possible would never heard of David Boreanaz , James Marsters, etc

Buffy made whedon. Sarah made buffy. Sarah made whedon.
Sarah was also very hilarious like a lot of people said in here. Just think about S4 and so many episodes come to mind:

Something Blue
Pangs
Beer Bad
Living conditions
Even Hush had me laughing at her staking gesture!

I loved her performances in Prophecy Girl (S1), Helpless (S3) and The Body (S5). The moments where she breaks down are really raw in emotion and for me, those bits of realism make her acting really enjoyable to watch.

I'm going to try and not repeat what's been already said, so I'll point out how utterly fantastic SMG is in Dead Things. She plays the mix confusion, self-loathing and despair beautifully, with such raw emotions. The alley scene is one of the few scenes that made me look away on the show, it's incredibly powerful stuff.

Fool for Buffy

So true, what's great about Dead Things is it's so painfully honest
I’ve always loved the way she plays curse-drunk Buffy in “Witch”. I cannot hear the song “Macho Man” without immediately thinking of her singing it in the kitchen. Sarah has really underrated comedic timing.

The « Balcony scene » ! One of the reasons I hate this scene so much is because of her acting. Don’t get me wrong, she is exceptional in that scene but maybe that’s where is the problem for me. Her facial expression, gestures, the way she delivers line, everything makes me think that she is disgust by what’s happening between Spike and her. I think she sends the emotion so very well that I’m disgust with her

Spot on, Buffy is disgusted with herself for keep on letting Spike do those things to her, she does not understand its her depression
Sarah disliked all of the horrid sex scenes in S6 it appears from the youtube take outs that she was particularly upset with dead things, of all the scene though out Buffy that Sarah filmed, the balcony scene is the one Sarah had most problems with ,

SMG does great with comedy, and she a good bit of drunk acting in Life Serial. She's just a delight in this episode. The face she makes everytime she takes a shot is iconic.
