Wouldn't it have been nice if Xander appeared on Angel?

I don't care what the rest of the producers thinked, but having Xander appear on an episode of Angel, would've brought a proper closure to the Cordy-Xander relationship, it would give a sense that Xander still cared for Cordelia, even though they were no longer together. He could even open up about Cordelia's relationship with Doyle (and later Angel). But he would keep his relationship with Anya (over at Buffy) as private.
 
YES! I would have loved to see Xander interact with the AtS gang. Perhaps Xander gets sent to LA on construction job to build something, the building they're working on gets haunted and needs AtS's interference. Cordelia insists that Xander stays in the hotel with them.

I would have loved to see Xander appear in Damage instead of Andrew. I think it would have been really interesting to see him interact with Angel and Spike and Wesley, all characters he knew previously and had somewhat bad history with and the double-cross at the end of the episode and the "Buffy doesn't trust you" speech would have been so much more powerful coming from Xander, someone who actually has history with Angel and a track record of not trusting him.

I was about to reply to this thread with a no, but I totally agree
Xander in Damage would have been really interesting and I agree the "Buffy doesn't trust you" speech would have been more powerful. I also think Xander in The Girl in Question would have been more fitting than Andrew, and the moving on speech would have sounded better coming from Xander who used to be in Angel and Spike's shoes and had managed to move on from his feelings for Buffy.

I agree, the "Buffy doesn't trust you, Angel," scene should have been Xander instead of Andrew, but it would have been better if that was his only scene in that episode. Andrew was good for the rest, and it would have been better if he was as surprised to have Dana taken by the Slayers as Angel and Spike were.

Andrew was better in "The Girl In Question," though. I just couldn't see Buffy sharing an apartment with Xander in Rome. Andrew, however, is just one of the girls, so it works out okay.

I disagree. Buffy, Xander and Dawn formed a family unit in S7 and I can see it continuing after that. Xander was the only Scooby Buffy had an intimate scene with after Empty Places and as shown in S8 their friendship grew stronger and they still worked together whereas Giles, Willow and Andrew went their separate ways to work in different countries.
 
Yes, I'm convinced that Xander would've sloted into Angel round about S3 for an episode; right when Cordy was transitioning and the writers were kicking off the whole Cangel thing. From his perspective Xander is busily gearing up for the wedding- which is big news he might've wanted to share (or invite people).

I think he would've made a good cameo; Season 3 of Angel is ealiy the most light-hearted so it wouldn't have been that jarring at all.

What was shown in Season 8 was Buffy and Xander living in a castle filled with junior Slayers. Obviously, he had his own quarters. They were not sharing an apartment. Given Xander's previous feelings for Buffy, coupled with his probable depression over the loss of Anya, I just can't see them living together. Call it the old fashioned Puritan in me, but I just can't help but see the potential for something bad coming from an arrangement like that (maybe because I wrote it that way, long before there was ever any hint of an official Season 8)
 
Buffy Angel Crossovers were fairly scattershot as it was, I would have plenty of story reasons to have Xander visit, but I don't see him moving the ratings dial one way or the other.
 
I think Xander should've been on Angel instead of Andrew, then when he said Buffy doesn't want Angel involved (I think the episode was Damage?) then it leaves it up in the air whether Xander was lying (like he did in Becoming) or whether he was telling the truth.

Andrew could be lying, too. After all, he's the storyteller.
 
I thought Willow’s appearances on Angel were all perfect, and I never felt Xander (or Giles for that matter) were needed on Angel, but boy am I sold on this Damage thing, especially because I think that is already a very entertaining episode.
 
Interesting points. I wasn't sure this would work considering Xander's previous animosity towards Angel but much of this stemmed from jealously over Buffy. I think Xander has started to move past this by season 3 of BtVS which roughly corresponds to the beginning of AtS. This storyline could have been a good indicator of this change as well as the mentioned Cordy related benefits. Either Doyle or Angel could work. Doyle if it happened in season 1 of AtS and Angel if it happened in season 3 on, Xander being well over it by then. They never really concluded the element of tension between Angel and Xander either and this could be a way to do that. Their even could have been a handshake or some such.
 
or maybe if Xander became a regular on S5 of AtS (instead of Spike), he would've had this scene in "You're Welcome" (100th episode)
"Cordy, although this could be your last few days on Earth, you don't really have to go (Why not?) I thought maybe we could restart our relationship again and you could forgive me for the whole cheatin' on me thing!"
 
Yes just once or twice to revisit his past with Cordy. Also with Xander more mature in later seasons it would have been interested to see him interact with Angel over Buffy.
