Some Love for Lesser-Known 'Ships

Willow and Giles ship Fanfiction was a big thing on Willow's GeoCities website.

Lesser ones that I like:

Anya/Giles: memory-less they had a lot of chemistry. I maintain that their kiss was the best hetero kiss of S6.
Spike/Illyria: Because it would've been interesting to see Spike forge a romantic connection with somebody other than Buffy
Faith/Gunn: Slayer with a non-vampire, shocking I know. Plus I think Gunn's soft romantic side would've won Faith over after she gets a handle on his demon-fighting kick-ass side.

I love when people ship Graham with characters other than Riley. I used to read Xander/Graham fics in the past. I just love how fanfic writers shaped his character in the same way (kinda like Riley, but slightly less uptight).

I see so much heterosexuality in Graham. He's one character I've never considered slashing, and I am kind of open to slashing.. and he's a cowboy, in the old cowboy sense... Just a bit wild. I see Riley as very... domesticated. Good friends, yes, but not a couple. Anyway, I really enjoy trying to 'find the Graham' from the little tidbits we got in canon.

How about Fred and Willow? I loved them in Orpheus. 😉
 
They have tons more chemistry than Kennedy and Willow.

Absolutely agree. The audience would've gotten to know Fred on Angel before she was paired with Willow, plus she had a nice kind personality that was similar to Tara and Oz so it would be easy to see why Willow would fall for Fred. I have no idea what Willow sees in Kennedy or why she wanted to be in a relationship with such a self-centred brat.

A relationship I think would've been interesting to see is one between Spike and Sunday.

You have the Wayback link or is it on OOCities? The stories are probably all on Hairy Eyeball now.

I kinda ship Willow/Angel though in my head it's never straightforward romantic, slow-building, pretty dark and probably not ending well - especially for Willow since close proximity to Angel for longer time periods never ends well.

I read a few fics back in the day with Angel/Angelus -Dark Willow/Willow happening. The pair makes sense on paper, mostly from a "fallen to darkness in pairs" trope. For a moment I thought TLJ was going that way after you know who bites it.

I never said the relationship would last long but Sunday's reaction to Buffy is at least something she would have in common with Season 2-4 Spike.

Buffy/Tara - The only person that really seemed to 'get' Buffy, was there for her when she needed a shoulder, & wasn't after something in return.

Agreed!!! She was the best friend Buffy ever had and I would have LOVED for that to happen.
